RISK by Joanna Russ

In the short story Risk the theme is that, "LIFE IS NOT LIFE WITHOUT RISK!." This reminded me of Kanye West's music video, "Touch the Sky."

Technological advances have made significant changes within the society and thus made life to be ever so safe. With this said, the whole point of life is revolved around making changes,taking chances and risks. Within the whole revolution of technological advancement the meaning of life has been forgotten and lost. The fact that man kind has become immortal to a certain extent makes life to be just bland. As Russ discusses in her short story,"MANKIND- IDENTITY- EVEN LIFE ITSELF- DEMANDS THE CONSTANT TEST OF DANGER!" In the music video "Touch the Sky," one cannot only notice Kanye West breaking barriers and standout out from the crowd, but you can also see him taking risks indulging in activities such and stunt jumping on a bike and getting an adrenaline rush. Through this he not only lives his life to the fullest but also enjoys it. In other words he dies a happy man without any regrets and fulfills the true meaning of life which is RISK.
"Fore the day i die. i'ma touch the sky." Kanye West does not limit himself but rather cross all the limits of life.

In conclusion both Kanye West and the man is the short story Risk teach the audience to life their lives to the fullest, enjoy themselves and never limit themselves. They should reach for the sky as if they are in a constant race to out do themselves and, "come out extra fly for the day they die."
